For the last 4 years I've been distilling high quality fresh Frankincense resin from Oman. I distill Boswellia sacra sourced from the Dhofar region, one of the oldest continuously harvested Frankincense groves in the world, where this resin has been revered, traded, offered, and used for ceremony and healing for thousands of years. The Omani people hold this tree sacred, and it is paramount in their culture that it be protected, respected, and ethically harvested, and the trees allowed to rest appropriately year after year.
From each distillation we are gifted with hydrosol, essential oil, and spent resin rich in Boswellic Acids. From there I extract, refine, and purify the Boswellic Acids further to obtain a concentrated extract. Nothing is discarded from my work with this resin.
Boswellic Acids are not present in the hydrosol nor the essential oil of Frankincense. This is an important piece of awareness when learning to understand the full spectrum of what this plant offers. Through reverence, listening, and research I've developed our proprietary method to isolate what the distillation leaves behind. Boswellic Acids are pentacyclic triterpenes and why Boswellia is so studied and revered in modern research. Topically, Boswellic Acids have been observed in clinical settings to support a calmer, more even appearance in sensitive, reactive, and sun-worn skin. Clinical observations also show visibly improved texture, elasticity, and a reduced appearance of fine lines over time, particularly in complexions marked by photo-aging or persistent sensitivity. For skin prone to redness, this extract supports a calmer, more even tone without stripping or disrupting.
The extract is suspended in a base of whole Frankincense resin infused organic Jojoba oil, blended with organic Argan and Moringa oils chosen to complement the resin's complexity.
