The tallow is whipped with whole Black Sacra Frankincense resin infused Jojoba oil and house-distilled Frankincense essential oil at a 2% dilution. It is one of the few products where I use essential oil. Tallow closely resembles skin's own sebum, rich in stearic, oleic, and palmitic acids, and carries the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K naturally. It supports the skin barrier and elasticity and holds in hydration.
From each distillation I receive hydrosol, essential oil, and spent resin rich in Boswellic Acids. From there I extract, refine, and purify the Boswellic Acids further to obtain a concentrated extract. Nothing is discarded from my work with this resin. Boswellic Acids are not present in the hydrosol nor the essential oil of Frankincense. This is an important piece of awareness when learning to understand the full spectrum of what this plant offers.
Boswellic Acids are pentacyclic triterpenes and why Boswellia is so studied and revered in modern research. We encourage you to look into the science yourself. Topically, Boswellic Acids have been observed in clinical settings to support a calmer, more even appearance in sensitive, reactive, and sun-worn skin. Clinical observations also show visibly improved texture, elasticity, and a reduced appearance of fine lines over time, particularly in complexions marked by photo-aging or persistent sensitivity.
